The 1st International Conference on Biology 2021 (ICOB) dengan tema “Biodiversity and Biotechnology for Sustainable Development Goals” telah terlaksana pada hari Sabtu, 11 Desember 2021.  Seminar international Biologi pertama ini merupakan salah satu program kerja  dari Departemen Biologi, Fakultas Matematika dan Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam, Universitas Hasanuddin bekerjasama dengan Konsorsium Biologi Indonesia dan Perhimpunan Mikrobiologi Indonesia Sulawesi Selatan.

ICOB 2021 yang dibuka oleh rektor Universitas Hasanuddin Ibu Prof. Dr. Dwia Ariestina Pulubuhu, M.A menghadirkan para ilmuwan terkemuka dari seluruh dunia dan dari berbagai universitas dan pusat penelitian di Indonesia. Beberapa dari mereka hadir sebagai Keynote Speakers yaitu : 1. Prof. Dr. Mohd. Ilham bin Adenan, Professor and Rektor Universitas Teknologi Mara (UiTM), Pahang, Malaysia. Peneliti Kimia Bahan Alam, Forest Research Institute (FRIM), Malaysia (h-index 25). 2. Prof. Dr. Budi Setiadi Daryono, M.Agr.Sc., Peneliti and Professor Genetika di Departemen Biologi, Universitas Gadjah Mada, Ketua Konsorsium Biologi Indonesia (KOBI) dan Dekan di Fakultas Biologi, Universitas Gadjah Mada, Yogyakarta, Indonesia (h-index 14). 3. Prof. Shihui Yang, College of Life Sciences, Hubei University (h-index 33). 4. Ravenska T. Wagey, Ph.D., Principal Scientist, Department Research & Development, Biotech: STEMCELL Technologies Inc., Vancouver, Canada. 5. Dr. Dominik Kneer, Leibniz Centre for Tropical, Marine Research (ZMT), German.

Paper yang telah dipresentasikan selanjutnya akan melalui Proses review yang dilakukan oleh tim editorial dan reviewer masing-masing jurnal untuk kemudian dipublikasikan ke 1.
